We believe in minimal data collection. Here's exactly what we collect and why:

2.1 Anonymous Technical Data (via Firebase)

We use Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics to improve app stability and user experience. These services collect:

• Crash Reports: Anonymous technical data when the app crashes (stack traces, device model, OS version, app version)
• Basic Analytics: Anonymous usage statistics (screen views, button clicks, app opens, session duration)
• Device Information: Device model, operating system version, app version, language settings
• Anonymous Identifiers: Firebase-generated anonymous IDs (not linked to your personal identity)

Important: This data is completely anonymous and NOT linked to your personal identity.

2.2 What We DO NOT Collect

We want to be absolutely clear about what we don't collect:

• No Personal Information: We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any personally identifiable information
• No Reading History: We do not track which surahs or ayahs you read
• No Bookmarks or Notes Content: Your bookmarks and personal notes stay on your device only
• No Location Data: We do not access or track your precise location
• No Contact Access: We do not access your contacts or phone book
• No Social Media Integration: We do not connect to or collect data from social media accounts

3. How We Use Collected Data

The minimal anonymous data we collect through Firebase is used solely for:

• Crash Analysis: Identifying and fixing bugs that cause the app to crash
• Performance Improvement: Understanding which features are most used to prioritize improvements
• App Stability: Monitoring app performance across different devices and OS versions
• User Experience: Making informed decisions about feature development

We NEVER:

• Sell or share your data with third parties
• Use data for advertising purposes
• Create user profiles or behavioral patterns
• Track your reading habits or spiritual practices

4. Local Data Storage

The App stores certain information locally on your device to provide its functionality:

• Reading Progress: Your last read position and reading history are saved locally on your device
• Bookmarks: Verses you've bookmarked are stored locally
• Personal Notes: Any notes you create are stored exclusively on your device
• App Settings: Your preferences for font size, theme, translation selection stored locally
• Downloaded Content: Quranic text, translations, and audio files stored on your device for offline access

Critical: All this local data remains on your device and is NEVER transmitted to our servers or any third party. If you uninstall the app, all locally stored data will be deleted.

5. Firebase Services

5.1 Firebase Crashlytics

Firebase Crashlytics helps us identify and fix crashes. It collects:

• Crash stack traces and error logs
• Device state information at the time of crash
• Device model and OS version
• App version and build number

This data is anonymous and used only for debugging purposes.

5.2 Firebase Analytics

Firebase Analytics helps us understand app usage patterns. It collects:

• Screen views (which screens are accessed)
• Button clicks and feature usage
• Session duration and frequency
• Device information (model, OS version, language)

What it does NOT collect: Your reading history, bookmarks, notes, or any content you interact with within the Quran.

6. Internet Connectivity

The App requires internet connection for:

• Downloading Quranic text and translations (one-time)
• Streaming or downloading audio recitations
• Checking for app updates
• Sending anonymous crash reports and analytics (Firebase)

Once content is downloaded, you can use the App offline. During offline use, crash reports are queued locally and sent when you reconnect.

7. Permissions

The App requests only essential permissions:

• Storage: To save Quranic content, audio files, and your personal data locally
• Internet: To download content and send anonymous analytics
• Notifications (Optional): For prayer reminders and daily verses (can be disabled)

You can manage these permissions through your device settings at any time.

8. Children's Privacy

Al-Quran App is suitable for all ages. We do not collect personal information from anyone, including children. The only data collected (anonymous technical data through Firebase) cannot be linked to any individual, child or adult.

9. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures:

• All data transmitted to Firebase is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
• Local data is stored in the app's private sandboxed directory
• We regularly update the app to patch security vulnerabilities
• Firebase infrastructure follows Google's security standards

10. Your Rights and Control

10.1 Opt-Out of Analytics

While we collect minimal anonymous data, you can opt-out:

• Disable analytics in the app settings (if implemented)
• Use device-level settings to limit ad tracking (which also limits analytics)
• Contact us to request analytics opt-out

10.2 Data Control

• Local Data: You have complete control - view, edit, or delete anytime
• Anonymous Analytics: Cannot be accessed or deleted individually as it's not linked to you
• Uninstall: Removes all local data; Firebase retains anonymous data per their retention policy

11. Data Retention

• Local Data: Remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app
• Firebase Analytics: Automatically deleted after 14 months
• Firebase Crashlytics: Retained for 90 days, then automatically deleted

12. Third-Party Services

We only use Firebase services. We do NOT use:

• Advertising networks (AdMob, Facebook Ads, etc.)
• Social media SDKs
• Additional analytics platforms
• Marketing or tracking services
• Cloud storage for user data

13. International Users

Al-Quran App can be used worldwide. Firebase data is stored on Google's servers, which may be located in various countries. However, since the data is anonymous and not personally identifiable, international data transfer regulations have minimal impact.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. We will notify you by:

• Posting the updated policy in the App
• Updating the "Last Updated" date
• Showing an in-app notification for material changes

Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
